CW Principal Update

Summer 2025

Dear Charles Wright Families and Community,

Welcome to Charles Wright School - I am glad you are here!  My name is David Huber and I am entering my 26th year in education and my first year as principal of Charles Wright. I am honored and proud to be part of the Charles Wright and Wethersfield community.  I started my teaching career here in Wethersfield before teaching elementary education in New Britain.  I then spent the last 17 years as an elementary principal in Bristol. I am thrilled to be back in Wethersfield! 

Whether you are a new family or returning back to us, I hope you will consider joining our PTO to be part of our activities and events. We need your help to ensure the success of each child at Charles Wright and when we partner together - all kids will benefit. It is my goal to provide all family and community members with as much information about our school as possible.  Please be sure you have signed up for Parent Square so you will have the most accurate and updated information.

At Charles Wright School we are pleased to offer multiple opportunities for families to support the teaching and learning at our school. Families will have opportunities to volunteer before, during and after school.  Each year we conduct a Title 1 Parent Engagement Survey and use these results to improve our school. We appreciate your input and partnership sharing activities and events which are important to you.  Seeing I am brand new to Charles Wright, all families are encouraged to provide feedback using the following family survey. 

At Charles Wright we are on a mission to build a safe community where all kids, families and staff feel connected.  We will be spending time each day getting to know each of our students by name, strength, need and story.  By doing so we can create life-long relationships and accelerate learning.  

Please feel free to stop in and say hello or don't hesitate to call with any questions, suggestions or concerns. Through frequent two-way communication (either in person, via email, Parent Square or phone) we can ensure the success of each of our learners while positively growing our community.  Once again, welcome to Charles Wright School - We are glad you are here!
