The Wethersfield Public Schools Department of Facilities & Maintenance Operations supervises and coordinates all general maintenance and repair work to the district's nine physical plant buildings (five elementary schools, Silas Deane Middle School, Wethersfield High School, the Stillman Central Office Building, and the Marsh Street maintenance facility).

The Department is responsible for budgeting and planning routine maintenance and upkeep, capital improvements, and major repairs; performing repairs that fall within the scope and abilities of Department maintenance workers; contracting and negotiating prices for major renovations and emergency services falling outside the Department's internal capabilities; and ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for all students and district employees.

Staff members include general maintenance workers, custodians, and skilled tradesmen, including master-trained carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and electrical craftsmen.
