Location:  Wethersfield Police Department Community Room  -  This club meets bi-weekly on the first and third Thursday of the month at 5:45 p.m


The Wethersfield Police Cadet's is a community oriented program under the direction of the Wethersfield Police Department.  This program encourages leadership, volunteerism, academic excellence, and conflict resolution skills.  This program is for students aged 14-21 who have an interest in law enforcement.  Cadet's receive training in felony motor vehicle stops, domestic disturbances, traffic direction, emotionally disturbed persons, DWI enforcement, investigations, suspicious persons, and building searches just to name a few.  


The Cadet's assist the Wethersfield Police Department at civic events at event's like fairs, parades, etc.  Cadet's are also given the opportunity to attend the Cadet Police Academy which is held for a week during the summer.  The training is provided by law enforcement officer's from all over the New England/New York area.  Approximately 300 youths attend the academy.
