Class Dues

Class dues are an important part of the reason why we are able to have these events and make sure they are funded.  If you are unsure what your student owes then have your student visit Mrs Belanger in Room 502.

$25 For Each Year; $100 total for all four years.

This can be paid by cash or check payable to WPS Escrow with "Class Dues" in the memo line.  This can be turned into Mrs. Belanger in Room 502 or the Main Office.

If you have not yet paid your class dues in full you will need to before attending events such as Senior Prom & Senior Picnic.

Graduation Rehearsals

There are two rehearsals for graduates lasting approximately 1.5 - 2 hours; the first will take place the day before graduation at 12:45 p.m. at WHS.  Students will receive their cap & gowns and any honors cords needed for the ceremony at this first rehearsal.

The second rehearsal will take place the day of graduation at Cove Park at 1:00 p.m. Rehearsals are mandatory.

Obligations (Outstanding Materials/Balances)

Chromebook Return (dates to be determined) -If chromebooks are not returned, students will be charged for the cost of their chromebook, case & charger ($300).

Book Return (dates to be determined) - Books must be returned to the teachers' classrooms.  If books are not returned students will be charged for the cost of lost materials.

Students who have not returned all materials and/or paid outstanding school debts are not eligible to receive their cap & gown or diplomas until all balances are paid in full.  Please see Mrs. Wood in the Main Office with any questions regarding unpaid balances.

Motorcade (day of graduation)

This year we continue the tradition of the Graduation motorcade for our students & families. The motorcade is a "vehicle parade" that starts at WHS and continues towards the graduation venue. Please note - in case of inclement weather/indoor graduation ceremony there will be NO motorcade.

The Wethersfield Police Department will facilitate the motorcade from Wethersfield High School to Hanmer School parking lot. Students enter via the Wolcott Hill Road entrance at 4:30 p.m. and depart at 5:00 p.m.  All motor vehicle laws will be enforced by WPD including the following:  street legal vehicles only, cannot exceed maximum allowable passengers per vehicle, no sitting in the back of pick-up trucks, etc.  Please be mindful that the WPD rules are there to protect the safety of our graduates & families in advance of their graduation.

Students will take a left out of WHS and head north on Wolcott Hill Road, then take a right onto Nott Street where they will cross the Silas Deane Highway with police assistance. The motorcade will continue on State Street past Cove Park.  It will continue by taking a right onto Main Street, then a right onto Church Street and finally a right onto Garden Street  ending at the Hanmer School.  Students will park there and walk over to Cove Park and line up on the sidewalk.

Graduation

There are no tickets required for outdoor graduation, but please bring your own chairs.

If there is the possibility of inclement weather/indoor ceremony, Superintendent Emmett will determine if graduation will move indoors. If an indoor ceremony is necessary, graduation will take place indoors at Wethersfield High School.

Graduation Seating & Inclement Weather Location/Tickets - graduation rehearsal, tickets for an indoor graduation ceremony will be distributed in case of inclement weather. Each graduating senior will receive five tickets for an indoor graduation ceremony - three tickets for Gym A where the ceremony will take place and two tickets for the WHS Auditorium where the event will be live streamed. There are no tickets needed for an outdoor ceremony. The outdoor seating area is first  come, first served and families must bring their own lawn chairs. Caps and Gowns will be distributed at the June 8th rehearsal.  All obligations must be met in order to receive your cap and gown.
