How can I tell the difference between a legitimate email and a phishing scam?
Some phishing scams have been traditionally difficult to identify if you aren't already looking for them. Scammers can "spoof", or pretend to be, another person by utilizing tools to show their email address in the sender area of an email. Luckily, our IT team has put safeguards in place to help identify these sorts of situations. Here is how you can identify them!
I received a phishing email. What do I do with it?
The safest thing to do is not respond. GMail has a feature in place which allows you to report phishing attempts to the IT team directly. Simply select the 3 vertical dots to the right of the email message and choose Report Phishing. Our techs will follow steps to notify everyone accordingly.
