Health Protocols for Students and Staff
The Department of Public Health (DPH) and Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) have released their guidance regarding COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses.
They continue to encourage vaccines for COVID-19 and influenza.
The district will be following these guidelines for COVID-19:
Students and staff that are sick with a respiratory illness (cough or sore throat, AND fever 100°F) and/or positive test result for COVID-19, RSV, or influenza, and will notify the school nurse.
They will remain home from school until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication and their symptoms improve.
After 24 hours of being fever free with symptom improvement the students or staff may return to school and are recommended to follow precautions for five days which may include: masking, maintaining physical distance, or utilizing antigen testing to determine if still infectious.
Wethersfield Public Schools highly recommend that you wear a mask through day 5.
